Easter Break '09

Sorry, I'm just now getting around to posting our adventures during Easter break. Due to one thing or another I ended up downloading all of these pictures 3 times before I finally got it done. Anyway, here goes:

My parents flew in on Saturday and we left for RAF Fairford on Sunday after church. The plan was to stay at the base in Fairford and do day trips out of there. That way we could see a bunch of the sights down in southern England and not have to drive home each night.

We had two TLF's (Temporary Living Facility) which are like two room suites with a kitchenette. It was very comfortable.

We visited an impressive number of sights during the week we were gone. Here's a list of the places we went:

Monday-Tintern Abbey in Wales and Church History sites...Castle Frome Church, Bengow Farm, Herefordshire Beacon, Gadfield Elm Church (the first chapel the church ever owned)

Tuesday-Cheddar Gorge, overnight near Penzance.

Wednesday-St. Michaels Mount, Penzance, Land's End, Tintagel (where King Aurthur supposedly lived)

Thursday-Stonehenge, Woodhenge (not nearly as impressive as Stonehenge)

Friday-Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespear's home), Warwick Castle (was rainy and sloppy)

Saturday-Stoke-on-Trent to the "Potteries", Market Bosworth (where some of my side of the family lived before immigrating), HOME!!

We all had a great time but were more than ready to be home.
