Since mother didn't actually go with us, I (H) have been recruited to write this post so we'll see how this goes down. Our adventure begins on a chilly English morning...surprise surprise...and one with no school!! Always a plus. Since my dad has been moaning about not having been to London when we've been here a year, he was dead set on it. We woke up at around O dark hundred to get ready to catch a train to London at 8, well that was the theory. For those of you who are or have teenagers who like their sleep I bet you guessed what happened with that. I woke up at 7, but then i went back to sleep :D so we didn't get off until 9. Lucky for us a train goes to London about every 30 minutes. So Dad, C, M, E, and MMEEEE got to the train station, got our tickets, and went out to wait for our train. Whilst sitting on our psychedelic pink and purple benches we happened upon a man visiting from Oregon who claimed to have relatives in "down ham market" I couldn't help but snicker because I had once done the very same thing. It is, however, pronounced "downam market" I digress. Anywho, so our train came and we hopped aboard the London express. So then we got to London, Dad stopped to admire a Ben Hurr Live poster, and we crossed the street to the subway, underground, the tube, whatever floats your boat. No sooner than we had walked through the doors than Dad turned around and said "Alright H, lead the way" after shaking off the initial shock, I magnificently navigated the labyrinth of tunnels under the streets of London. Don't laugh it's not funny. I really did. I happen to have an amazing sense of direction. Oh fine go ahead and laugh. Ahem so we take the underground and pop up in Green Park right across from Buckingham Palace. Oops. What i meant was Buckingham palace!!!! Unfortunately the flag was flying so we weren't able to take a tour. For the sake of those who haven't watched National Treasure 2, if the flag is flying that means that the Queen is in the building. So we stood and admired it and took pictures and then decided to move on with our lives and go see B-I-to-the-G Ben. And for those of you who aren't gangsta like me, that would be BIG BEN!! So we walked to a subway and I, once again, magnificently guided everyone through the underground walkways all by myself with a LITTLE help from the peanut gallery, actually there were several peanuts in the gallery but we won't go there, got on the train and ended up in Westminster Station. We walked down the road a little ways past the place where the prime minister lives and walked a little more. Then we spotted it, and it wasn't near as big as i thought it is but like nothing ever is...except me cause i'm NOT very big :P So then we were excited and crossed the street and then crossed another street and were right in front of the Parliament building which looked a little out of place but it was amazing. Unfortunately we couldn't go in there either so we looked at the Oliver Cromwell statue and i had one of those tingly "i know i learned this, where has it gone?" sort of feelings that i tend to get a lot and we crossed the street AGAIN to Westminster, which was amazing as well. Then we sat and debated what to do and Ethan and Dad (one more willing than the other and with a lot less complaining) had gone pretty much where us girls wanted to go and they really wanted to go to the Natural History Museum (and as you saw earlier i LOVE history...:S hehe) so we went to the Natural History Museum and entrance was FREEEE which was definitely a plus so we walked into the museum and BAAM there was a huge dinosaur skeleton and i actually DO like dinosaur skeletons and such, so that was pretty cool, so then we went to look at the sign which said what exhibits were where. FIRST we went to the dinosaurs and it was all dark and like "woooo scary it's a dinosaur exhibit" kinda effect. we had fun looking at all the stuff and walked into the next room with a rather scary almost life size t-rex which was like animated and had motion sensors so as soon as we walk in it's like "RAAAWWRRRR!!" and i was like "Woa Nelly!!" so then we had to get a video. Next we went to the human biology or something...BAD idea...well first there were stretchy bendy wobbly mirror things that make you look all distorted so i was like aah it's not too bad...but then i turned the corner and BOY let me tell you i got an eyefull more than i bargained for. Well i ran thru that part in a hurry and we went out the other end to the animal something something exhibit with a LIFE SIZE replica of a blue whale and ohmybluewhale it was GIBOOMBUS!! Everyone in that exhibit was doing their 'turkey in the rain' impression lol. So after that we had to get going home and so we headed out of the museum passed a gelatto stand and i SWEAR i heard it calling my name and apparently dad got the vibe too, so we all had gelattos and headed back home TADA!! I am FINITO hope you had fun reading because this was painful to write. :D muah muah goodbye dahling (like darling but with a posh english accent) au revoir adios sionara ciao cheerio________(that was sign language)
p.s. mother went thru and changed all the names to letters...that wasn't me
