Citizehship Run

In order for R and L to obtain U.S. Citizenship they both have to set foot on American soil...that's it. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, it is easy if you go directly to the US from China. However, as you know we do not currently live in the US. So upon FINALLY receiving L's US Visa we had less than a week to get them both to the States.

Long story short...we decided that S was going to take them on a space-available military flight to Dover, DE. We only had ONE shot at this and then we'd have to fork over the BIG bucks and buy airline tickets.

They made the flight and landed safely at Dover AFB and obtained US Citizenship. R and L are officially Americans! We were glad to have that hurdle behind us. Now to get home.

H's very best friend is living in Virginia and they went there to visit for a little bit and to Wendy's, of course, for lunch. They did manage to bring me pictures of Arby's and Target. :-)

S, H, R and L sat in the terminal for two days when S made the executive decision to take a hop (Military space available flight) to Rota AB, Spain...at least they'd be in Europe and could take a fairly cheap flight back to England. There were no military "hops" going back to England so they purchased tickets, mailed their luggage home via military post, and hung out for a day or so at the beach and chillin' at the BX.

WOW! sounds like they had a fun trip! I'm sure you're glad every one's "legal" now! and only in the military is it possible for this to be an issue!
