Between the elephants, raft ride and the ox carts we did not get to lunch until about 1:30. We were all starving and the Thai food buffet was really yummy.
After lunch we all loaded up into the van and our guide said that we could go to the Snake show (NO WAY! Snakes are one thing but Cobras are something totally different!), the monkey camp or play with baby Bangle tigers. We quickly took a vote and, of course, some of the boys wanted to see the snake show but in the end we decided that we would do both the monkeys and the tigers.
At the Monkey Camp there was, again, a demonstration or show in which the monkeys performed and showed what they could do. Some of our kids got to help and everyone got to go up and have their pictures taken with one of the monkeys on their lap. Then as the finale the trainers asked if anyone in the audience had a watch and stressed that it needed to be a water-proof watch. JB was the first one with his hand up and after checking with us to make sure that the watch was indeed water-proof he tossed it into a shallow pool of water (about 3 ft. deep). The monkey then swam down to retrieve the watch and returned it to JB. After the crowd dispersed the monkey was taken back to his cage, where, he placed two or three bites up the trainers arm. Maybe he was ticked because the trainer forgot to give him his treat for doing the trick.
There were a couple of baby monkeys that you could feed. They were pretty cute but got a little spastic when the younger kids came around. One of them really liked S (what's not to like, right?) It was especially interested in his Leatherman which was strapped to his belt in a leather case. Here's a little clip.
We then went to the Tiger Park to play with the baby tigers. It wasn't exactly what we expected but it was still fun. We went there at the end of the day when all of the animals were tired and ready for a nap. The cubs were not as playful as we had hoped but we got some cool pictures.
Here are some Monkey and tiger cub pictures.
We also visited the butterfly and Orchid farms. They were really pretty and here are some of the pictures from that as well.
