December 26th-Moving day

Today came way faster that we wanted it to. We were informed on Christmas Eve that they had hired movers and that they would be moving EVERYTHING out of all four of the bedrooms, the piano, our big sectional sofa, and the pieice of carpet underneath it. We had them take the TV and DVD player as well. I had no idea what to expect. They said that it would only take a day and that they would take down and set things back up on the top floor. They did a pretty decent job and managed to get most things back into the closets that they came out of. The apartment above us is identical to ours except upstairs the entryway and laundry room are filp-flopped.

After they had 3 of the rooms packed up they brought in a big truck. I thought "surely not!?!". this truck was not there to load things into...it was there to load things ONTO. They took EVERYTHING out the end bedroom window, took it down to the end of the driveway, put it onto a platform and basically conveyored it up to the 2nd story bedroom window and everything went in reverse of the way it came out. I guess they got tired of hauling things to the end of the driveway so they switched the position of the lift to a vertical setting. I think it went faster this way. They had saved the large furniture for the end. It was very interesting to watch.

You may notice that the area is void of children. Steve was nice enough to take all of the kids out for the day. He was off from work and it worked out very well and saved my sanity. I can't imagine having them around and dealing with all of this as well.
