Well, we were still in our "temporary apartment" for New Years. we decided to make it a nice relaxing evening at home with the family. We bought a bunch of munchie-type food for our fun evening but didn't think, at the time of purchase, how we were going to heat the little buggers up without a working stove. The landlord bought a nice refrigerator and a brand new stove (can we take this one down to our apartment??) but didn't hook the gas up to it. There wasn't even a hose to complete the line or we would have drug our propane tank up and hooked it up.
What we ended up doing involved me taking all of the items that required an oven to our torn up apartment kitchen and heating them up there. I would then call the "temporary" apartment on our intercom phone and have S send a runner to fetch the goodies. It was a pain but it worked and we didn't go hungry. :-)
We played games (our new Mouse Trap game), did puzzles and watched a couple of edited movies that I had ordered but that the kids did not know about. It was fun.
