We were actually hoping that the toddler bed bunk beds would last Kai and Levi until we got back to the States due to the fact that the British beds are smaller than U.S. beds AND they're expensive. But it just wasn't going to happen. I even threatened to stop feeding them so they'd not grow so fast but they didn't think that was a good idea. :-)
So, we went down to the local DIY store and bought some hardware, a 2x4, and couple of 1x6s for slats (they even cut them for us). Oh, and we also had to cough up $100 for a silly sponge mattress from the base furniture store.
It looks pretty rough but it went together easily and it works. Most importantly the little boys like it!! When we get back to the States it will get a coat of paint and maybe some customization. :-)
