We walked about a mile (up hill the whole way) to the castle, lots of stairs inside the castle and then S wanted to go to "Mary's Bridge" about another half mile further up the hill. I found this quite funny due to the fact that S is scared of heights. He said that it scared the wee-wee out of him. I did get a picture of him inching over to the rail to peer over the side and DOWN below. I think what mad it worse was that the bridge wobbled and there were spaces between the planks of wood where you had to walk.
After hiking back down to the car we hit McDonalds and then on to one of King Ludwig's other castles...Linderhoff Palace. This Palace was way more extravagant than Neuschwanstein Castle was. We did not go inside but we saw pictures of the inside. It was amazing! We spent our time in the extensive and beautiful gardens. Upon arriving back at the hotel we embarked on our ritual pool pilgrimage.
S cringing and trying to keep it together.
Being brave and peeking over the edge.
On our way back down from Mary's Bridge.
Another picture of Linderhoff with H and C.
